Commercial SSL Event: The DesignLights™ Consortium Stakeholder Meeting

Are you interested in commercial LED lighting products? You should consider attending the DesignLights Consortium’s Stakeholder Meeting, to be held in Atlanta from October 28th through 31st.

Anyone familiar with the solid-state lighting marketplace knows that there are a bewildering number of products available, with a wide range of performance. In order to bring some clarity to this situation, a group of organizations joined together to support the DesignLights Consortium (DLC). The Consortium establishes, in partnership with industry, performance criteria for 30 SSL product categories and manages a qualified products list in much the same way as EPA’s ENERGY STAR program qualifies lighting products for the consumer market. To date, the DLC qualified products list contains over 15,000 high quality lighting products from a wide range of manufacturers.

The Stakeholder Meeting provides a unique opportunity for the commercial SSL community to meet in person and discuss the future of this market. Attendees will include representatives of electric utilities, manufacturers, designers, testing laboratories, installers, and government, making this an important networking event. If you are new to commercial solid-state lighting, this will also serve as an excellent introduction to a program that is increasingly recognized as an important seal of quality in the industry.

MEEA is a member of the DesignLights Consortium and will be in Atlanta, so please join us!
