This September Illinois Home Performancewill be launching a new training series entitled the Building Science Training Series. This series of courses has been designed by and for home energy efficiency professionals.
“The Illinois Home Performance Building Science Training Series was developed to address deficiencies within the existing knowledge base of home performance contractors in Illinois,” says Jamie Peters, Program Manger for MEEA and Illinois Home Performance coordinator. “Our two trainers [Brian Kumer and Keith Williams] have years of experience working directly with Illinois-based residential contractors in both training and advising roles and they have identified the top six course topics that are most sorely needed within the industry.”
Classes are aimed at keeping energy efficiency professionals up to date with the latest building science techniques, technologies, and training in addition to providing education in areas that will directly effect your businesses growth such as the sale and marketing of home performance.
24 classes are planned across Illinois covering:
- Home Performance Sales and Marketing
- Exterior Wall Dense Pack Insulation
- Air Sealing Techniques
- Combustion Safety Testing
- Infrared Technologies
- HVAC Performance Testing
Classes begin September 12th, 2011 and are open to all home performance and energy efficiency professionals in all states.
